OK, so we had made our minds up we wanted a Labradoodle puppy and our search began. We searched various websites, breeder listings emailed breeders etc. etc. until we were well and truly in a spin!
Then one day I telephoned a lady who had just bred her first litter of Labradoodles born on the 4th of July 2006. We spoke at length on the telephone, and we arranged to visit and look at the pups on the understanding that we would not necessarily be buying one.
As soon as we saw the puppies with their lovely mum Sandy, we wanted one. We chose a lovely, then black bitch, and named her Rosie. We had the added advantage of living quite close to the breeder, and over the next few weeks were able to visit Rosie as often as we liked and monitor her progress.
On the day we collected Rosie, she had developed a silver muzzle, obviously inherited from her silver Standard Poodle father. Now Rosie has a wavy/shaggy coat with both silver and gold colours in it.
Rosie is pictured below with her mum Sandy.
Rosie is developing into a wonderful girl. She has been easy to train, both in the house and outdoors. She loves to accompany her family wherever we go, she just fits in!
She loves her walks, runs, and has recently discovered the joy of swimming!! She is a brilliant retriever. Rosie just loves people and she is brilliant with children. She also enjoys socialising with other dogs.
My favourite thing about Rosie is how she cuddles up to me on the sofa. You try keeping a Doodle off the sofa!!!!
