Labradoodles are a popular crossbreed resulting from the mating of a Poodle and a Labrador.
They are lively, bouncey, intelligent, eager to please, loyal, fun and lovable dogs. They enjoy being part of the family, and are good with children. They do not thrive from being left for long periods alone.
Labradoodles need regular exercise, and good consistent training and guidance. They are extremely sociable dogs, both with humans and other dogs/animals if introduced to them properly.
The F1 Labradoodle is the first cross of Labrador to Poodle. The F1b is a F1 Labradoodle back crossed to a Poodle. Multigenerational mating is Labradoodle to Laradoodle.
Labradoodles come in a variety of colours including, black, blue, silver, chalk, cream, cafe-au-lait, apricot, red gold and chocolate. Some have small patches of white on chest and toes.
Different coat types are fleece, which has a distinct soft feel to it. Wool coats are similar to that of a Poodle and are often quite tight curled. The hair coat can be straight, shaggy, wavy/curly, short or long.
F1's can come in a wide range of coat types, and are more likely to shed than that of a multigeneration Labradoodle.
Labradoodles can be good for some people with allergies, but are not suitable for all allergy sufferers. Often people show no reaction to a puppy, but can have an allergic reaction when the puppy gets older. It is always a good idea for allergy sufferers to spend time with an adult Labradoodle before deciding to obtain a puppy.
Labradoodles come in three sizes:-
Standard Labradoodle is over 20 inches at the shoulder.
Medium Labradoodle is 17 - 20 inches at the shoulder.
Miniature Labradoodle is below 17 inches and above 14 inches at the shoulder.
